PAC-MAN 35th Anniversary - Poster 40x60 - Exclusive Design by Orlando Title of the art piece: WAKA WAKA Orlando Arocena (mexifunk) is an artist and graphic designer who works in traditional and digital mediums. With more than 18 years experience delivering creative solutions for some of the world's most recognizable brands, he has established himself as a non-conventional vector artist who explores cultural iconography, pop culture, and speculative narratives. His vector art has been commissioned by Adobe to be the face of their Illustrator CC 2014. In addition to commercial endeavors, he is presently collaborating with New York City, Denver, Colorado and Los Angeles, Ca. art organizations such as Republic Worldwide Inc., The Lodge Gallery, The Fountain Art Fair, Gallery 1988, Iam8Bit Gallery, and the Poster Posse. His story with Pac-Man : Having grown up in NYC in the 1980s, I have a different relationship with Pac-Man…I remember the way the city, specifically the fashion world & club scene embraced it. Sure, it was an arcade game, swallowing up your quarters faster than the elusive yellow guy was gobbling up those dots, but PAC-MAN proved to be much more than that, It became Culture. · The maze behind the piece: To pay tribute to Pac-Man with pop deco illustration that captures the fun, self-expression, vibrant 1980’s excitement that has influenced much of our fast paced contemporary world.
