My story:
My name is Natalie, I’m from Norway and I'm the creator of Crohnies Apparel. I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease when I was 16 years old in 2016, which completely turned my life upside down. I realized life would be a lot different than what I had expected and I had to make a lot of changes. It can be hard to get people around you to understand and believe your struggles when you have an invisible disease. Together with my boyfriend Martin, who does the graphic design, we want to create optimistic and funny apparel related to my disease and I hope Crohnies Apparel can brighten the day of someone suffering IBD and make them feel more understood and less alone. Crohnies meaning: A "Crohnie" is person with Crohn's Disease. Due to the similarities of Crohn's Disease to Ulcerative Colitis (UC), Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Colitis and the umbrella term "Irritable Bowel Disease", we Crohnies accept persons suffering with UC, IBS, IBD, and Colitis as one of our own. We accept them as a "Crohnie".
Our goals:
* To spread awareness in a positive way
* Help fund research: We plan on donating 10% of our profits to support and research organizations related to Irritable Bowel Disease.
And last but not least...
* To spread joy: IBD can be very hard to live with and it can be tough to keep your spirits up. We believe that humor is a good way to deal with hardships. Through humorous and relatable designs we want to spread the message that you are not alone with your disease and to keep on fighting!
